MODERN MALAYSIAN FARE
IN THE HEART OF PECKHAM

We are Janda Diner, a ‘not your average’ Malaysian restaurant. What started as a pop-up in our wonderful friend Sandra's pub The Man of Kent in Nunhead, has now evolved into a cosy, intimate dining space in the heart of Peckham, where people come to enjoy both classic and culinary twist on local Malaysian dishes.

The inspiration comes from our Head Chef and owner Ady Yacob. With a Grand Diplome from Le Cordon Bleu coupled with deep love for his home cuisine, Ady and his good friend Lanny have leveraged their experience in food, design and media to create a Malaysian dining experience that is truly unique.

‘Janda’ comes from the Malay language meaning female divorcee. Some people might ask us why we would choose such a name. Simply put, we see it differently, to us the word evokes freedom and taking control instead of prejudice and judgement. It's about pride in yourself, self expression and being joyous and uninhibited. We hope that this passion comes through in our food and with our service.

Our goal? To not only provide modern Malaysian dishes with flair, but also to create an atmosphere of fun and celebration. We try to make it so that every night at Janda is a special one.

Come join us. We'd love to see you.
